Saw VI (2009)

Saw VI has been waiting for a night that I could watch it alone.  My wife despises these movies, and I don't blame her.  I enjoy them however because no matter how sick and disgusting the mind that created them, they are genius on that same sick disgusting level.

Eat Pray Love (2010)

Last nights movie was Eat Pray Love with Julia Roberts as the lead character Liz Gilbert.  Liz finds herself in a perfect life situation with the perfect husband, job and house.  The only problem is she is lying to herself in an attempt to stifle the deep down hatred she is harboring for everything.  Liz is able to come to terms with herself by praying to god for the first time in her life and decides to make a 180 turn around in her life.  The movie is her journey.

Gangs of New York (2002)

I chose a bit older movie tonight from 2002, Gangs of New York.  I hate to call 2002 a bit older by the way, it is amazing how having kids changes your perception of time.  I am running out of "view instant" movies on Netflix, and this one is a new addition to the new release category.  I read the synopsis and found good cast, respected director, and a decent topic.  I thought I would give it a shot.

Defiance (2008)

2008's Defiance was another movie in my Hitler kick area.  Although it was not added to my queue for this reason, it fit perfectly.  The movie takes place during Hitler Germany while a group of non violent jews flea to the forest and try to survive the constant attacks.  Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber lead the cast.

The Experiment (2010)

Tonights view instant flick was 2010's The Experiment with Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker.  The Experiment is a psychological thriller, a genera that also had the equally provocative Unthinkable with Samuel Jackson.

Gun (2010)

50 Cent and Val Kilmer star in 2010's Gun, a movie about small time arms dealers trying to take it to the next level.  Gun was available on view instant, and it happened to be the shortest movie in our queue at the moment.

The Chosen One (2010)

Hmmm, the first short enough movie on the view instant queue tonight was 2010's The Chosen One.  Written, directed and lead character all by Rob Schneider.  Why would Rob submit himself to this?  This has to be the worst movie I have ever seen him in, and he has done some pretty bad performances.

Acting was horrible, filming was horrible, directing was horrible.  Oh yeah, and the script was horrible.  The concept of the movie was not bad, it was just executed very poorly.  It felt as if Rob just needed some more money, so this was filmed and released.  It felt rushed and unfinished.  The only decent acting in the film was the Arhuaco tribe members.  The only real reason for that is they didn't do much, and they didn't speak english so we couldn't really tell anyway.

Synopsis you ask?  The synopsis is don't waste your time.  I was able to finish the film, I mostly just wanted to see what would happen next.  Since I was able to finish, The Chosen One receives a 1 star rating.  Ciao for now and see you for the next review!

The Joneses (2009)

Tonight was Netflix view instant night because we watched our mail movie last night.  I decided to pick one of the new arrivals to instant view, The Joneses.  While the movie was back from 2009, it was just added to view instant.  This movie stars David Duchovny and Demi Moore, with Amber Heard and Ben Hollingsworth co-cast.

The Last Airbender (2010)

Well guys, its going to be a short review tonight on The Last Airbender.  The film had its ups and its downs, but the downs outweighed the ups.  The Last Airbender had a cast that I was mostly unfamiliar with, and as you should know by now I end up liking that most of the time.  This is one of those exceptions.
