The Runaways (2010)

I really enjoy watching based on real life movies such as The Runaways, especially when they are based on music.  I enjoy them because they are not only informative, but they are also most of the time entertaining.  Even though you forget what you learned in most cases, it is still fun while you are watching to know you are learning something you didn't know before, while having fun at the same time.

While you are watching The Runaways, you feel bad for the main characters multiple times because of the situations they are put into.  You also feel bad because lead singer Cherie Curry follows right into her dads footsteps of addiction.  Kristen Stewart did a good job of portraying Joan Jett in the film, as did Dakota Fanning playing Cherie.  While watching, you tend to forget that the film is based upon real life events.

I was impressed by the camera effects in the film.  During some of the drug and sex scenes, they chose some very interesting filters and techniques to use and I felt it definitely added to the quality, realism and believability of the film.  The script and interaction of the cast were all done nicely.  The movie had a great flow to it.  The interactions on all levels during the film were very believable.  There were talking scenes, fights, drugs alcohol and sex.

Overall The Runaways was a decent film.  I learned some new things I did not know before, and was entertained along the way.  Nothing outstanding here however, so I am giving the film a 3 star rating.  If you like to learn new things, or you are into music then the film is worth checking out.  As always please leave comments, click above to follow my blog and share to your favorite social networking site below.  Ciao for now and see you for the next review!
